This session is part of an 8-week webinar series emphasizes skill building for the Post-Acute Care Infection Preventionist with a focus on establishing and managing an effective IPC program in the SNF/LTC/AL setting. This session will discuss strategies for developing and managing the facility infection prevention and control program

 

Projected Learning Outcomes/Course Objectives: At the conclusion of each session, the learner will:

1. Describe the purpose of the IPC program

2. Identify primary activities of the IPC program

3. Establish a process for developing and implementing IPC policies and procedures and risk assessment

 

Course Content

  • 10 minutes Purpose of IPC program
  • 20 minutes Core activities of an IPC program
  • 10 minutes IPC policies and procedures
  • 10 minutes IPC Risk Assessment process
  • 10 minutes Closing Comments/Q&A

 

Target Audience

Infection Preventionists, Nurses and Clinical Leaders in SNF/LTC/AL settings.

CEUs

Each session is eligible for one CEU for licensed Indiana administrators and licensed Indiana social workers. LeadingAge Indiana will award the Indiana-specific CEU for each individual who signs the CEU Sign-In form returned to LAIN after a session. Signing the CEU Sign-in form attests that you have listened to the webinar in full.  

Please note that in order to receive continuing education credits for this webinar, you MUST login via the webinar software on your computer, or via the mobile app. We are unable to grant continuing education units for those who call in by phone only without doing so through the GoToWebinar application on your phone. As a registered participant, you will receive access to the webinar recordings. No CEUs are given for watching the recording.

 

Cost

  • LAIN, INALA, IHPCO and HOPE members: $65 per individual session
  • Eligible LAIN Samaritan Alliance members: $32.50 per individual session
  • Eligible INALA Samaritan Alliance members:$48.75 per individual session
  • Non-members: $100 per individual session

Cost covers ONE (1) connection to each month's live webinar presentation, copies of each month's slide deck, and access to a recording of each month's presentation. Multiple staff members may participate in live webinar presentation from, the single connection. If multiple individuals wish to participate from different locations / different campuses, additional registrations are required.
